"The Darkroom" downstairs at Agincourt
is quite a small room and the "stage" is on ground level (except for the platform for the drum kit). So by the time MM9 eventually came on, it was quite crowded and almost impossible to see them further back in the room. Thankfully singer, Dan Sutherland, was thoughtful of this and stood on the drum platform from time to time and held his hand to the roof. This was my fourth time at a MM9 gig and I would say this was probably the best I've seen them. They were full of energy and delivered a solid performance. "Trains", "Army of Me", "Around My Neck", "Flies and Spiders" all had me moshing and singing along with the other songs I'm not aware of the titles of sounding just as great. When Dan announced the last song, I was a bit disappointed that it was a new one that I didn't know any of the words to. But it turned out not to be the last song, as they consented to an encore and vigorously delivered "The New Chemistry".
http://www.manymachinesonnine.com This World are out of this world! Extreme metal madness! Very easy to head bang and damage your spine to. The set lasted about 45 minutes and was absolutely killer. Major shredding was going on with the lead guitarist ripping up some wicked solos. It was fun, it was heavy, it was METAL!
Here's the set list:1. INTRO
2. AS WE FALL
3. THE INSIGHT OF BETRAYAL
4. CD-4
5. NOT BREATHING
6. NEVER TELLING TRUTH
7. THIS MORNING AFTER
8. MY HOMICIDE
PS: Days later and I still feel physically wrecked from moshing hard to this severely brutal onslaught of a band.
