Many Machines on Nine sound better on CD than live in person, in my opinion. Or at least the vocals do. Dan Sutherland seems to be an inconsistent performer. Sometimes he's amazing, other times it seems like he's struggling or not trying to put enough into it. However, Ben Ellingworth's excellent drumming is a consistent greatness that holds the songs together and ensures that a live MM9 experience is still a worthwhile one and Kerry on guitar and Luke on bass add to that super heavy sound you can't quite capture on CD.

MM9 set list:
INTRO
AROUND MY NECK
DISAPPEAR from view
IN BLUE
TRAINS
NEW KILL BREAK
SMILE
ARMY OF ME (Bjork)
When It Kills yoU
CITY WIRES
the NEW CHEMISTRY
ONE THING

The Prosthetic Tour - “A New Perspective”

Many Machines On Nine / Self | Is A Seed : September 2006

What do you do when you have two bands who’ve each just launched highly anticipated follow-up CD’s - both from the same state - and they both want to hit the road? You put them on the road, together. And then you call it The Prosthetic Tour - “A New Perspective”.

2006 has been a big year for Many Machines On Nine. After stunning audiences in support of U.S. heavyweights Static X and Ill Nino, and being lauded by the crowd at Sydney’s “Come Together Festival”, MM9 now have another notch in their burgeoning-belt: their new release. Prosthetic Boulevard, released to a capacity crowd at the Annandale Hotel in July, showcases the ‘new sound’ of this quartet - more ‘dance’, than ‘metal’, more ‘beats’ than ‘blasts’, and hooks aplenty. Add the strength of Prosthetic Blvd to their formidable live show, and you’ll realize why people are catching on…

Self | Is A Seed…Capitalising on numerous highly-successful tours across the country in 2006, and a string of supports for Cog, The Butterfly Effect and Karnivool, all on the back of their freshly-unleashed Perspective EP, and it’s easy to see why these four men have set the country ablaze. If you like your rock with heart-felt intensity - fragile yet urgent - then get on this train now. Armed to the teeth with killer tunes - including Vent Through A Wall which has now been added to rotation on Triple J - these guys are bringing their angular rock tunes to a venue near you.

The Prosthetic Tour - “A New Perspective” - it’s your chance to be among two of the hottest names in the Australian ‘alternative’ rock scene.

Come and check out what the mainstream radio doesn’t tell you.

Then tell them what they’re missing.
