No one goes by that whole cutting off body parts anyway. No one cuts off their arm if it causes them to see. Or gorges their eye if it causes them to sin.

its not meant to be cutting off body parts...its just a way of expressing consequences. plus i dont consider it murder when they execute peterson, after all he killed his wife and unborn child then pretended nothing was wrong..the world is better off without people like that
