2. Generally, I don't understand what people are talking about. I just smile and nod and make a guess. This is also how I pass exams.

That was exactly my method for coping in French. I was always afraid to show I didn't know what was going on (stupid pride), so I would nod and say, "Oui" a lot.

3. After a year at my work, I'm still not sure I've worked out what I'm supposed to be doing.

Same here. After two years I still don't know how to cancel a transaction on the till, for example.

Yes, same. It concerns my teachers. My English teacher was so worried that my hand would cramp up in exams that she gave me new pens with squishy grips :)

Same here! I know how to cancel till transactions, but *whispers* I have NO IDEA what any of the door codes are.
