I think my idea re separate areas for the cats' dry food may actually be working. I put the boys' kibbles in the living room, and theyy seem to have understood and approved. Wish me luck!
We have to do separate areas for our felines. We have one, Wims, who is a Labrador disguised as a grey tabby. He'd eat until he burst. Then Marlowe, our black Tom, will harass the ladies, Abby and Cissy, if he's not given his own kibble bowl. Abby likes to be in the study, so her bowl is in there. Cissy's bowl is up the dining room table and Marlowe's is up on the dry sink.
All three but Wims are self-feeders so they come and go with kibble. Wims gets his kibble in portions during the day, which also provides nice training sessions for Gibbs, our canine.
Good luck with the feline politics! It makes human politics look tame by comparison. :-)

I have now FIVE cats in the house (bangs head on desk) and they are fed in three well-separated locations. It works for us.
