I am all for the ballerina flats while loli-ing. I have some chunky mary janes I want to use for some pictures but for walking around I need flats!

I totally feel you on the blouseless JSK thing-- when I got into my car yesterday, the temperature meter read 114. The weather here has been absolutely UNHOLY.

I have to disagree with you on the A-kon cosplay lolitas, though. I winced a bit when I saw them, because they clearly hadn't researched the fashion very well, and could have done sooo much better if they had. I had to ask them if they were going for lolita, at first, because the tacky accessories and skirt shapes threw me off. Cosplay or otherwise, legwarmers are a HUGE no-no in the fashion.

It's incredibly awesome that your mother and her friends dressed up in Victorian clothing! Such pretty scenery, too. What are her opinions on lolita?
