Okay, so there is this Okami contest that I plan to enter. I spent the last few hours creating my piece and am now unable to decide which of the three final versions I should go with. Please if everyone can help me by telling me which one you feel looks the best? (And also... if you even like the image and concept at all.)

It's a pretty good drawing, but I've got two minor criticisms:

1. The world of Okami is extremely colorful at all times, so I think your background could use more in the way of colors, and perhaps a few extra details.

2. I'm not sure if this was intentional, but Amaterasu (or the animal in the foreground) kinda looks like a bear. Its snout is shorter and stubbier than a wolf's, and it's frame seems bulkier. Ignore this comment if that was supposed to be a bear, though. Haha.

Finally, as for picking one of them, I'd have to go with #3.

1. I know that Okami is a very colorful game and that the background isn't the greatest. I could try adding some reds and yellows to it but I am really awful at making backgrounds. Perhaps I could just snap some pictures of the forest this weekend while I'm out and make them look watercolorish with photoshop.

2. Perhaps it is because I drew it but I really do not see the resemblance to a bear. Wolf cubs are rather short and stubby (including their noses) If you care here is a link to the reference image I used for the cub here

I would have to go with number 3. And I agree with Blash's comment about the bear thing. lower the back some, and he would probably look more like a wolf than a bear cub
