to the band i am currently part of, thanks. and by thanks, i mean thanks (mainly to our fantastic "leader") for letting me know i'm definitely not good enough for any of you. when recording your first album, i didn't know it was customary to replace the tracks i worked so friggen hard on with someone else. "well, you see david..jason's just BETTER than you, and it's kind of funny, he's only been playing for a year!" ouch. i've never heard of a band bringing in "better" musicians that replace the actual members of the band. members that want to be there. members that devote so much effing time to it. sorry i'm not frigging good enough for you. sorry you don't like how i play, how you want some crappy sounding church rock album, that's frankly sounding like every other boring church album i've heard. but of course, i have to much of a heart to say how i think you're five tracks of guitar riffs are distracting or how the vocals really aren't anything. wait..why don't we get people who can sing in radio-friendly quality?? oh, i know! because it's rude!! my god, what am i supposed to think now? i'm just a live player. i'm really not good enough to be put onto an album, and what is put on is for sympathy i guess. this isn't an album with a focus, it's an egotrip for some of us, and an egotrip and easy way to get people to come to youth. that's all it is. sometimes we complain about those above us, because it scares us that we're just as bad as them.
sorry i don't make the cut, guys.
dave.
