T3: Rise of the Nerds

Jun 28, 2011 20:14

Doing things a bit differently this time around. It seems that every single time I start writing convention reports, they end up these huge epic posts that no one has energy to read. *g* Or actually right now I don't unfortunately have time to write. So I'm doing highlights per guest and starting with Thomas Dekker. Even if this was supposed to ( Read more... )

I did enjoy T:TSCC as well and was sad to see it cancelled. Thomas did say during the weekend that they've tried to get the story to continue in some form. The whole cast is onboard with that. I'm sorry, I didn't remember much details about the talks. Should have taken notes. Thomas was really great and I'm glad I got the chance to meet him. Fingers crossed you'll meet him some day too!

Heeeeeee! I loved reading everything in detail even if you gave me the scoop earlier :D :D *iz a lucky girl*

I'm so glad you had a nice experience with Thomas! As for sharing bits of this, would you mind if Marcy posted the parts about TSC and Gale on the website? Crediting you, it goes without saying. I might be in charge of the transaltion, too ;)

Welcome back! *hugs*

Thanks, hon! I actually used the tidbits I wrote to your LJ to help me when I was writing this. Gave me some help.

Thomas was awesome and now I'm waiting for TSC to start even more!

Marcy has continuous access to all my reports. I know she treats them well and gives credit, so share away :)

*hugs*

Funny you should mention the TSCC/TSC thing. When I started reading your post, I thought your first "TSC" was a typo and was momentarily confused that he was referring to John Connor as a witch :P

I'd read tidbits from someone on twitter who was at Starfury, but it was nice to read a fuller write-up like this. Thanks for writing it! That walkie talkie story was especially fun. Sounds like you had a blast and your pictures are great too. I got to meet Thomas at Dragon*Con in Atlanta in 2009 - he was charming, funny and very sweet. It was a thrill and a half for me!

So did he show that video he made with Lena on the set of TSCC? I want to see it!

Thanks! Glad to hear you enjoyed reading my little report. I found that TSCC/TSC thing quite funny in my own little head. *g*

Thomas was really great and seemed to have time for everyone even if he had to get through quite a few people. He did tell some other stories as well but unfortunately I can't remember them.

Thomas did show the video with Lena during the closing ceremony and he said that he would try to put that up on Youtube but he needed to get clearance from Lena first. Hopefully it surfaces at some point.

Hi Pia,

Thank you for the link to your full report/pics:) Thomas sounds like a really nice guy.

I'd love to know what he meant by "he had never met someone similar" lol

My pleasure. Glad to hear you enjoyed reading it.

I'm gutted I didn't ask for extra information but I was left with an impression that he had an admiration towards the guy and it was definitely a positive comment. I've met Gale once (or actually three times but that was on consecutive days *g*) and he did seem to have his own sense of humor so maybe that had something to do with it.

I posted the part where Dekker talks about Gale Harold on Gale's boards on IMDb. I gave you credit and put in a link. I really appreciate your eliciting that from him. I'm always so delighted when Gale's co-workers speak well of him. There has been an effort a time or two by individuals who shall not be named to give him a bad rep.

Thanks for telling me that. I'm happy to share my report but it's nice to know at least a little where it is *g*

Even if it wasn't that many words I was definitely left with an impression that Thomas had an admiration towards Gale. It is always nice to hear/read nice things being said about him.
