QUEENS OF THE ROAD - part 3

Apr 06, 2014 23:47

And here's the final part of my report. It's again quite long so stocking up on food and drinks is recommended *g*

Also lots of pictures once more. Still asking you not to take any parts of the report or the photos but rather linking back to my journal. Thank you!

Oh, Pia, thank you so much for this report. Loved reading how everything went down.

I copied this from Dixie's LJ (she's the one who asked them the questions ala "The Actors Studio):
Gale: favorite word - maladroit, least favorite word - fear, favorite curse word - sucka, What do you want St. Peter to say to you when you reach the Pearly Gates - I found your notebook

Randy: favorite word - perspicacious, least favorite word - blah, favorite curse word - cunt, What do you want St. Peter to say when you reach the Pearly Gates - Your mom’s waiting with a bottle of wine.

Thanks again for taking the time to do this!

Thank you! I'm glad to hear you enjoyed!

I read Dixie's report as well and saw those answers there just after posting my report. Had totally forgotten it was her who asked those questions. :)

I enjoy writing these reports and hearing that people enjoy them, makes me happy!

Hi, Pia - thank you for taking so much time to write these very comprehensive reports. It helps to jog my own memory, as well as fill in some gaps when my schedule made me miss some of the events - aargh!

I totally agree with your opinion BTW. I'm glad I went, but there were a lot of areas that could have been improved upon. And the ending? I was left with, "Is that It?" I almost kept waiting for a punch line, or for them to come back out. I thought the ending was extremely abrupt, like a story that was left without the final chapter. Very odd.

Great photos, too, BTW! Thanks again for all your hard work in posting this. *Hugs* ~Kim

Hi Kim! Quite enjoyed writing these since it gave me the chance to relive it all again. I'm glad to hear they also helped to jog your memory.

There were some big problems with the schedule and I do hope they improve it for next year. The ending simply sucked. I feel they should have extended the final panel at least a bit since they had been late all day. And I also feel that all the guests should have been given an opportunity to say a few words. Of course it's quite possible that at least Gale was happy to not be put on the spot :) It was just so abrupt, like you said.

Thank you for all your kind words!
*hugs*

Thank you, Pia, for taking the time to write all this! I would have loved to be there, but this was the next best thing. You should be a convention reporter-- you have the knack *g*!

It does seem like Gale and Randy tend to be a little leery around fans, more so than Scott and Peter, and your reports seem to confirm this. Not that I blame them, but it would make me nervous to meet them since I hate making people uncomfortable!

Thanks again for your hard work!

Thank you! Gosh! You are making me blush here!

Scott and Peter are definitely more relaxed but also they don't have the pressure of being the main stars of the show, even if they all are credited as main cast. It's still obvious to all that Gale and Randy are the main thing and the others are supporting. It's also a personality thing. Not everyone is as open as others. The uncomfortable factor was the reason why I hardly talked with Gale on the boat. I just got a feeling that he wasn't happy to be there so I left him alone after my first attempt to talk with him. I did sort of feel sorry for him sitting there the whole time and surrounded by people the whole time. The other guests got to be in peace sometimes too.

Pia, my friend. Love it. :) Gale's description of people coming up to him saying he influenced them in some way was one of the best moments of the whole convention. I loved that. I really have forgotten so many of the things they said already. I agree that they will probably continue to improve as they do more cons. I think the end was so abrupt and I hated that. Maybe that's why it's been so hard to return to real life. :) I can hardly wait to have more adventures with you and the rest of the group. :) --Kimmah

Thank you, hon! Means a lot!

I had forgotten quite a few things too but while I wrote this, things started to come back to me. Also did check a few things with other people while writing. The ending simply sucked. There's no other word for it. Of course I don't know if there was something in the contracts or something but they could have done that in some different way.
Can't wait what other adventures we get to experience together either!

Wow! Your reports are so full of interesting details. I loved reading all three of them, and the pics are just gorgeous.

Thank you for taking the time to chronicle everything so thoroughly.

And btw, I dreamed last night that I was talking to Randy. And guess what we were talking about? Your pink hair! I told him that you and Sandra had traded phones the night she was at the dinner, and when he texted you to ask if you had had pink hair he was really on your phone, not hers. Don't ask me how I thought I knew this fact . . . LOL But it made total sense to Randy and he said, "Oh, that explains it!" I had read your post talking about that right before I fell asleep.

Anyway, thank you for sharing everything that happened at the con from your POV. It's great to imagine the 3 days that you guys had. ♥

Thank you for your lovely words about my reports and photos. Made me all happy! *g*

That's sort of worrying that my pink hair is invading other people's dreams and even the text exchange! Thank you so much for sharing your dream with me!

It was my pleasure to share my experiences. And hearing people enjoy them, means a lot!
