Miracle of miracles, it has finally snowed in southern Maryland.

There is a precious, fluffy, puffy, soft blanket of deepest white all around the farm today.  Earlier, when the babe and I had time for some fun, there were flakes as fat as hens falling to the ground.  Now it is naptime, and the world around us has responded in kind with quiet and ( Read more... )

Well, that was the cool thing about this event: even though folks were "being tourists" as it were (and I won't even mention the guy who got himself in the middle of a buffalo herd...), they ALL STOPPED and stood in awe of the eruption of this geyser. They were all reverent, awed, mystified-- silenced, at least. And after a moment when the whole thing was done? Many went back to being annoying; yet many others stayed, and stayed silent, or talked quietly. It was beautiful.
