Preparing to Prepare...

It's nearly that time again: first harvest.  I've been enjoying my morning runs these days, as a few more leaves seem to be decorating the ground than previously, mostly yellow, but some red.  I always look forward to autumn and the shifts it brings, and of course the big shift of Samhain.  But for now, it's time to prepare for Lughnasa.

What a handsome family! (I had a curly-haired tow-headed little boy myself, once..... sigh)

Very nice desk-- photos of other's homes that show the giant stuffed bookshelves give me a homey feeling of glad-we're-friends :-)

Taking a photo of one's harvest is a great idea although this year (the first, trial, learning year) we'll have only a mountain of patty-pan squash and a bucket of grape tomatoes with 2 finger-sized carrots. And maybe a marble beet.

oooooh, a beet! we tried so hard... nada. so that beet is an ace, as far as i'm concerned!
