Tutorial | How to make textures

Texture 01:

• Paste this texture onto a 100x100 canvas.

• Auto colour correction; Image → Adjustments → Auto Colour

• Crop this texture so you can only see the black piece of string. Paste it on top. Resize it to 100x100. Set to multiply 100%.

Texture 02:

• Paste this texture onto a 100x100 canvas.

• Paste the same texture on top but in a different position. Set to Softlight 100%.

• Curves adjustment; Image → Adjustments → Curves...

Input: 160
Output: 107

• Paste this texture on top. Position it wherever. Set to multiply.

• Curves adjustment; Image → Adjustments → Curves...

Input: 95
Output: 137

Texture 03:

• Paste this texture onto a 100x100 canvas. Resize it so only the string is showing. Desaturate it.

• Crop this texture to 100x100. Paste it on top. Set to screen 100%.

• Curves adjustment; Image → Adjustments → Curves...

Input: 151
Output: 100

It's quite simple, really. Just check your recycling bin (or anywhere else) for scraps and scan them onto the computer to experiment with. I hope I explained everything okay. I can be confusing at times. xD Ask me questions if you need. I'm here to help :)
