My family's just fine. My dad said the house was fine -- there weren't even any downed trees, only the electricity was out. And the area got hardly any rain.

For the Houston area, at least, looks like Rita was a lot like Emily -- the hurricane that wasn't.

Whew. *breathes enormous sigh of relief*

My mom didn't even lose power! She got rain, said it was windy on Friday night, but no big deal. I was really happy nothing happened. Well, it happened to folks east of Houston, and I feel bad for them. Wonder how Jim survived the storm in Beaumont...
