Bull Run Mountains

Yesterday I went with a coworker out to the Bull Run Mountains to go on a hike. I was supposed to go duckpin bowling that day up in Maryland but considering that it was 70 F and sunny all day, I figured it would be one of the last warm days of the year and it would be better spent getting fresh air ( Read more... )

George Chapman was born on 6 Jan 1769. He died in 1829. He married Susan Pearson Alexander on 3 Jan 1799.

Map of what, exactly? I linked to the elevation map of the park area, which also shows the trails.

If you want a real challenge, find out more information about the dozen or so headstones behind Dawson's cemetary. Keep in mind that some of the first battles of the Civil War -- rather, War of Northern Aggression -- were fought. Is it possible that these were graves of fallen soldiers? What about graves for the slaves? The headstone on there is marked as belonging to William Dawson b. 6/2/1802 d. 11/11/1851

oh, i didnt see the link, i was lookin at the pictures.

gimme more info, all the info from the head stone, more names around and the city (if available) and county.
