None of my RL friends particularly liked the film but from the trailer it looked like my kinda Spider-man. Spider-man was my fav superhero growing up and I was ridiculously excited for the 2002 film only to be disappointed. so much yes to:

...and all the rest of that paragraph! i grew up watching the cartoons too and the one that ran through the late 90s (for years and years) was my absolute favourite! while i actually liked the first movie from 2002 and was a bit skeptical about the remake because my brain was all like NO NO IT'S TOO EARLY. I AM NOT THAT OLD! i was surprised to find that it was actually quite good! i'm not even hugely into andrew garfield but i think he gave it more fun and sass and stayed true to the spirit of the peter parker that i grew up loving. plus, emma stone as gwen stacy = excellence! i loved that scene in the oscorp lab where she refused to leave until she had evacuated/finished the antidote. and their chemistry was off the charts!!

Yeah pre this I barely knew who Garfield was but jdhfjdhg he was brilliant in this. Also I think he did some of his own stunts which kinda made me fall in love with him. I love Emma Stone and her Gwen was epic. I think the fact they're dating in RL prob helped the chemistry on screen.
