I feel ya with the food issue, though mine is self imposed. I've been a vegetarian for about 6 months now and when I was planning to visit my parents, I told my mother about 2 months in advance of my dietary restrictions. About a month later, we were talking again and she was telling me about all the stuff she was going to make, all of which had meat in it. I had to tell her again. She said, "Well, can you have (item with meat)?"

Don't get me wrong, my mother is a wonderful cook. The best she could come up with, sadly, was a salad. I even offered to cook months in advance, but that kinda got shuffled aside.

*Sigh*

Hope your holiday season is a bright one. Certainly brighter than it's shaping up to be.

If they invited ask point blank: Are you going to respect my religion and dietary restrictions? If no then don't even ask me to visit if you have no respect for me or my religion.
