I'm gonna tell ya'll a little story about a company called 'DAMNCO.' I've changed the name of this company to protect the not-at-all-innocent, but most of you have heard me talk about them at some point in the last few months. This is a horror story, a true horror story... I know
April, 2005-- A family friend, Kevin (My mother's best friend's daughter's husband), works at DAMNCO and offers to recommend me for a job with his company for after graduation. I send him my resume, which he is impressed by, and he promises to bring it to his supervisor. I am very happy.
May 4, 2005 (two days before my college graduation)-- I recieve the following e-mail from Marian Wame (again, sorta rhymes with her real name)
"Michael,
Kevin gave me your resume this morning. He personally recommended you which is relevant to me. I would love to talk with you regarding the DAMNCO opportunity in the Client Services team. Due to our pressing need to make a decision regarding the person we will hire, I need to schedule interviews as quickly as possible. If you are available to meet with me this week, I am available 5:00
