It's true, though. You're in Avoria now, and it's a whole different dimension! Most of us are all from different worlds; there are a few of us from the same worlds, but it can get pretty odd.

I can't really explain it too well, but you've been sucked here from your world and been plunked down here. No one's really found a sure way to get back, so for now, you're kinda stuck here. There's a school, and city, and all sorts of random crap happening all the time though.
