Alien states are invading US!

Florida is really alien. There's something unsettling about driving across a state where the roads all run flat and the only grassy medians are those on the toll highways. It's a place where people are paying millions of dollars to live on 100 year flood plain. Where the tall trees only have branches at the very top and the short ones all have

I know how you feel, i've lived here since I was born. It's so unlike the rest of the country. But like the other parts of the country, and the world...there are awful parts, and there are beautiful parts. I suppose it depends on where you are. I can travel one hundred miles from my hometown and feel completely lost...yet when i return, it's the "florida" i know. I suppose when it comes down to it, it's just an idea.

I used to watch the lizards for hours when I was younger, I'd stare out the porch window at them..and I was always so fascinated by how greatly the colors in each lizzard's "neck" differed.

I hope your florida trip isn't too incredibly awful :-/
