[She readies herself, then grips the blade in her hand, feet moving nimbly. She's obviously no expert swordswoman, but she's certainly light on her feet and quick with her parry.]
[Kevas makes note of her skills as they spar. So far she's keeping up with him just fine but now it's time to change the tempo. His attacks come faster and harder though he makes absolutely sure to never actually hit her.]
[When his attacks come with more intention, Alice's focus narrows in on him as she tries to view him as an actual opponent instead of a friend. That's a bit difficult to do, but Alice does so enjoy a good challenge these days. She dances out of the way of his blade, twirling to bring up her own to block.]
[She's quick on her feet, he'll give her that. Instead of beating his swords against hers Kevas let's it slide off as he tries to keep the momentum of his attacks from breaking. He attacks with his off hand sword but it's only to keep her focused on his blades while he tries to snake his foot behind her and trip her.]
[She does indeed find herself tripped, but it's a mild deterrant. As she crashes unceremoniously to the ground, she twists her wrist and aims to jab the butt of her blade into his knee.]
[Scoring the hit and ignoring the reverb going up her arm, Alice rolls, blade clattering against the ground as she moves. Her main objective is for him to throw himself at her and miss so that he's momentarily stunned. If that happens, it'll be she who pounces to pin him.
If that isn't how it goes, of course, she'll splatter very ungracefully on the ground.]
[He hits the ground with a thud, missing her completely. Kevas guesses what she's going to do next, but he doesn't move. Instead he rolls on his back and opens his arms to catch her.]
[Aha! She does indeed pounce, though she had quite been expecting him to move away or something similar. When she's caught, however, that is entirely unexpected, and she 'oofs'.]

Oh, don't go easy on account of that, dear Kevas. [She twirls the sword, confident in herself.]
I am ready when you are.

[Of course he still will, just not as much as he planned to before.
With a nod of his head Kevas moves in quickly, striking with a feint and following it up with a quick thrust.]

Fighting through the pain Kevas pushes off with his leg, throwing himself at her so he can grab and pin her.]

Ah, so you do! Does this mean that you win, then?

While I'm quite confident that I indeed could if I were so inclined to do so, I rather admit that I'm perfectly content just where I am right now.
[She had enjoyed that little session! Practice never hurt anyone, though something does occur to her.]
I did not hurt you too badly, now did I?
