Bast altar

I recently got some pictures of my altar and wanted to share with you all. Although after all of the gorgeous altars I've seen on here lately, I'm afraid mine seems pretty cluttered!

A bit of background info: Cats are very important to me spiritually, so most of my shrine is dedicated to Bast (and there's a statue of Freyja in there as well). I'm drawn to Bast in particular because she also celebrates womanhood, music, dancing, sensuality, and art - all of which are important to me. I also have a lot of flowers and plants around to bring a little bit of nature indoors (I grew up surrounded by forests and mountains, so it's very soothing to me).

I would love to incorporate a better representation of the goddess Urania here since astronomy and the cosmos are important to me as well (I have a few stars on the wall, but I'd like something a little more substantial).

Anyway, on to the photos!

The Bast flag in the window is a bit drowned out in this photo, but it's not nearly that bright in person. I like the way the sunlight lights up the green glass decorations and the curtains. I have a lovely Christmas tree in the corner that I've decorated with lights and various animal ornaments (although I didn't get a good shot of it, unfortunately).

A clearer shot of the altar itself (I forgot to light the candles, though!). I have several musical instruments tucked under the altar itself (a tambourine, a drum, and a few ocarinas).

Various Bast/cat statues (with Freyja in the back). I have a jar of fiery red leaves and sand to represent the element of fire, and feathers to represent air.

My centerpiece - a Windstone "Circle of Cats" candlelamp, and a large Bast statue behind it. There's a small Freyja pendant on the left, and a moon phases pendant on the right. The glass hand makes a nice offering dish.

More Bast/cat statues. There's a bowl of seashells and blue glass stones to represent the element of water, and a bowl of green leaves and glass stones to represent earth.

I have a ton of lights strung around the room (what can I say, I love shiny things!). It makes for a rather nice, soothing glow at night.

Hope you enjoy!
