[There is a sharp scraping sound from the larder behind some shelves. Alice is seated on a barrel having found an adequate whetstone for her blade. Next to her is a basket of goods to bring to Kloe, though she has taken a moment to have herself some tea to calm her nerves and sharpen her knife. The monsters here have made her increasingly paranoid.
So much is wrong. So much is twisted. Worse than her own obvious manifestations of madness. This was subtle, insidious... her reverie however is interrupted by the sound of another looking for food.
Alice ponders if it's someone she knows and she hops off her barrel to investigate.
What a twist! The very... well, he wasn't human but he was obviously male so she supposed 'man' was as good a term as any. The very man she wanted to talk to.]
[She says it conversationally, absentmindedly balancing her knife on the tip of her finger. She catches it by the handle, sheathing it in her apron strings and her pinky finger brushes the recording button of her communicator which she wears like a pocket-watch.]
A few nights ago, I found Doctor Kloe and of our traveling companions, you had mysteriously vanished. Did such an unfortunate fate befall you as well, or was there some sort of foul play going on?
[Kevas catches the motion but says nothing on it. It almost makes him want to roll his eyes. If she wants answers he'll give them to her.
The troll shakes his head and sighs.]
