Okay, so as many of you probably know, Obama has called for the repealing of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", the policy that prohibits openly gay men and women from serving in the armed forces. I think you made a very sound and convincing argument.

I've always thought of the DADT policy as a hindrance to the military's growth. During a time when more soldiers are needed, isn't it counterproductive of them to be turning potential recruits away and even dismissing current employees over an issue that has nothing to do with either their suitability for the job, or their work performance? This policy is likely alienating a whole lot of talent, and that's something they cannot afford to do right now.

Not only were they turning away and forcing out competent, willing people because of their orientation, but at the SAME TIME they relaxed other standards and allowed known white supremacists into the military because they were having trouble meeting their enlistment quotas.
