Yeah, I really really like all Americana music like that...it's just a lot more interesting than most of this manufactured crap that is so popular today. I even convinced my Aunt and Uncle last summer to take me to see the Montana State Old-Time Fiddling Finals. (Hard to believe I'm a New Yorker, ain't it? LOL!)
My mother's family is from rural North Carolina, and they all play instruments. They have Pickin' and Grinnin's during those big family gatherings. They always play "Wayfarin' Stranger" so it's a part of my childhood I guess. My dad is from New York though, so I understand where you're coming from.
