Yep, it has all the ingredients of a great dessert: it's social, chocolate, very tasty, goes well with red wine, and is almost no work. Definitely the win.

Yeah, that's where I was leaning. Though as per Papa Vic's comment, the lazy may end up being chocolate fondue.

My suggestion, for next time, is to practice the new dish a few days early. You can scale it down, so that you aren't eating left-overs of the same dish right before the party. But, that way you know if that is what you want to make. And, if it doesn't taste as good as it sounded, you can go back to the dish you already know is great.
