"Every gun that is made, every warship launched, every rocket fired, signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and are not clothed."
President Dwight D. Eisenhower
April 16, 1953

george bush's state of the nation was almost laughable...in a sick and depressing way...

means nothing my ass, it's completely true. bush pumps money into an unnecessary war while in our own country the gap between rich and poor widens by the day, people must pay outrageous prices for prescriptions because the government doesn't do enough to watch drug companies (because the drug companies give them money not to) and people don't have health care, the homeless are everywhere, and he cons the same poor people he cheats into voting for him because he knows they'll support his tax cuts because he lies about the number (you know why the average gained from his tax cuts is so high, because the millionaires get absurd tax cuts, while a middle class family will receive nothing near what he promises, all because he talks about the averages).

the millionaire's "absurd" tax cuts cause the unemployment rate to drop and share prices and overall stability notches up, causing our economy to flourish, which we more than need at this time.

nick, dont talk down to me, i know how it's supposed to work. it's called trickle down economics, and it doesn't work: http://www.rationalrevolution.net/trickle_down.htm . on top of that, bush is the only world leader to cut taxes in wartime...IN HUMAN HISTORY. would you like to know why? because it's stupid and doesn't work.

you know what, you could do something about it. get out there, and be active and change things, because you obviously feel strongly (as do i) about our current president. Talk is nothing if it isn't backed by actions

i write a lot of letters to senators and stuff...other than that, i don't do as much as i should because i'd rather be playing guitar and stuff honestly. but if somebody perhaps more active than myself called me up and told me what to do...that would be another story, i just don't go out of my way to find rallies and stuff like that.

well it's good you do what you can, like writing letters to our senators and such. One thing i find hard, is trying to get involved in change when i feel like adults (teachers at NW) are so damn condescending, because of course what the hell do i know, im only 15. Strange how that works, hypocracy on so many levels?

holy shit, i totally know what you're talking about. the people don't give a fuck about what any of the kids think at nw. it pisses me off, they know that they can do pretty much whatever the hell they want and that if you finally get fed up and leave, they can just replace you anyway. its so goddamn annoying, plus we don't have any activities besides sports, which sucks.

since a lot of the kids at uprep are conservatives...all of them are always like YOU LIBERAL WHORES. or something like that..but yeah they're taking us to go see Hotel Rewounda (i don't know if that's the right spelling) and they're like yeah it proves a point that bill clinton did jack shit about it and it's a slap in non-conservative people's faces.
and that was that. just thought i'd share

ha, tell those dumbasses that even if clinton had tried to do something, the conservatives in congress would have fought him tooth and nail about it anyway, so neither party can claim the moral high ground in this one. besides, tell the fools that a genocide is going on right now in Sudan, and Bush has done jack shit about it. in fact, human slavery is still being practiced in Sudan. that should shut them up. no offense to you, but a lot of the kids at uprep are retarded and i would bet that many of them don't know what they're talking about and that they're only conservative because that's what their rich parents are, chances are what they're spewing is just what their parents tell them, which is even more pathetic.

no dude i totally agree. all these kids are conservatives because of their parents and one of them i want to shoot..he's so arrogant and is like YEAH I'M PRO WAR and yeah I LOVE BUSH...and one time we had to take this survey on depression and he was like pssh nobody in this school is depressed what are you talking about and then i yelled at him. but they're just really ignorant so whatever.
peace

that kid obviously knows absolutely nothing about war. it's a last resort, anybody who is pro-war doesn't know what their talking about. if he got drafted, he'd be singing a different tune, but that won't happen because the bastard's probably loaded enough to buy his way out of it, the fucking fool. tell him that for me.
