Being a teacher and being in the theatrical/media arts I'm bombarded by the same arguements as to what the line is between education and just showing off violence. We have to show it because its there- if we don't we are being ignorant. But to promote it is also just as bad. Its a very touchy subject and I don't have any answers.... But I'm glad its raising questions and eyebrows because we must always be re-inventing ourselves and our morals and society, how else are we to evole and or get past all these stereotypes? And pointless? Do you get what I mean? Obviously I'm not saying that they shouldn't speak their minds, but it does seem that they are glorifying the violent aspects of it all. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my rap music, be it gangster, old school, or whatever, and it is wrong to tell people what they can and cannot like, but once again, can it not be used to explain the right and wrong of making the types of decisions that they made
