"but the majority of people who are happy aren't quiet either.''

what can i say, other than 'no'? danny, i don't know you, but i like you, from your livejournals, and from my extra-sensory-genius-mental-powers of perception. I have to question if you are happy, or if you get what happiness is, if you equate it with non-quietness, er, with excitement.
Making noise is just imposing yourself on the world. it can be good, it can be a rockin fuckin party. But are you any better for it? If anything you lose something. I dunno, i am just feeling like a buttface sadface right now. but i stand by the fact that that statement disturbs me. greatly. Maybe i just want to believe that happiness is noiseless, because i am happy and noiseless, but i don't think so.

i always wanted to believe that, but really i feel like the only people that ever seem happy are the ones that interact with their environments and, even if they are not trying to, they express emotion in an unquiet manner. I know that I've felt happy when i was quiet (like through meditations or just relaxation), and you are right when i've felt totally miserable I've tried to feel better by being excited. But I'm not trying to talk about excitement, I'm talking about personality wise teh happiest people will geniunely have an energetic and seemingly unquiet manner. I think my wording was wrong, and hope this makes any sense.

mk, that's more of a valid point, i guess, than what i was thinking you meant. But i'd still like to disagree. I won't take it any farther though :-)

And I didn't read your post until now. And I completely agree with you about how ska is happy. Everyone takes one look at me and goes "oh she listens to punk". but i listen to more ska than punk and it will probably always be that way.

Skaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
