CHARACTER NAME: Mukuro Rokudo
SERIES: Katekyo Hitman REBORN!
AGE: 15
BIRTHDATE: June 9
FACTION: He is Ex-Project Yurei because of his ~*~SPIRITUAL~*~ powers. Yeah. He was in there against his will, though, so I guess he's ... neutral at the moment?
ABILITIES:
1. The ability to do very high-level illusions. Of course, this means he can't be affected by others' illusions, either. However, his illusions are not completely perfect. If someone has high spritual powers or a strong mind, they can overcome the illusion, though this tends to be pretty rare.
2. He is able to control other people by possessing them. This does, of course, have its weaknesses. He can be rejected if they are too strong, so usually he has to knock them out or injure them before he possesses them, unless they're particularly weak-minded. There are also ways to seal him within a body that he's possessed, so this is definitely not a foolproof power.
PERSONALITY:
Mukuro is a walking contradiction. More accurately, he likes to pretend to be sadistic and uncaring when he really isn't. He is, though, very arrogant and confident of his skills. Mukuro has a deep sarcastic streak and is very hard to rile or upset. If there is something in his way, he won't beat around the bush--he'll destroy it and move on. If he acts surprised, he's usually faking it for dramatic effect later. He's like a cockroach that just refuses to die.
He had a dark past, which leads him to be more distrustful of others, but deep down Mukuro does care for other people. Therefore, while he isn't super nice to everyone, Mukuro at least doesn't go out of his way to hurt innocent people. (Unless they just so happen to be in his way.) He just doesn't go out of his way to help them, either, unless he feels he has to, there is a good reason to do so, or he trusts/likes them as human beings. To fall within any of the aforementioned categories is fairly difficult--Mukuro's inner circle remains small and exclusive.
Mukuro is extremely loyal to his friends, even if he seemingly treats them like trash. He doesn't like to appear like a nice guy (that would ruin his image!), so most of the things he does for his friends' sake, he does behind their backs. So they may hate him and not understand the reasons behind what he does, when the entire time he was only thinking of them.
His is a very self-punishing kind of attitude, but that's the way Mukuro wants and prefers it. He doesn't want pity, and he doesn't want thanks.
HISTORY: To prevent tl;dr, bullet format! I'm going to sort of fix his canon background and make it applicable to the RP, so there shouldn't be anything super surprising here.
✿ Mukuro was born to a poor family in Japan. His parents, while not abusive, were very poor. They lived paycheck to paycheck and he didn't have that great of a childhood.
✿ One day they spotted a peculiar ad. Project Yurei was accepting volunteer children for test sampling. Of course, the parents would be very well-paid and the children would be taken care of. Thinking that Mukuro would be better off living where his well-being was guaranteed, they basically sold him to the Project team.
✿ Of course, his well-being was anything but guaranteed. Seen as nothing but an experimental sample, Mukuro went through a lot of pain during the testing. While he did gain extraordinary powers, they came at a high cost. And besides, it wasn't as if he'd asked for the powers in the first place.
✿ Eventually, he broke out out the facility, killing some of the team members in the process, and lived on the run. He tried to find his parents, but they had moved elsewhere in the country. After he spent some time searching for them, Mukuro figured it would be better for them to not see him in his current, mutilated state and gave up the effort.
✿ Being one of the more successful experiments, Project Yurei did, of course, try and search for him after his escape, so he was constantly living in an anxious state, always distrusting those around him and wondering if they would turn him in. Of course, then the war ended, but now Mukuro's got other problems to deal with.
✿ Because of the experimentation, Mukuro's body suffers immensely when his soul is in it, as a side effect. So every so often, he has to switch bodies and possess somebody, or else suffer intense pain. Of course, he usually does not prefer the latter. :')
