name change?

TEAM! It has been brought to my attention recently that the name of this comm makes it a little hard to find. Should we change it? If so, to what?

Like, URBINE4EVA? lol. If livejournal allows expletives we could go with fuckyeahurbine here, too.

Simply urbine would be a good name for the comm, I think.
Or as you already suggested fuckyeahurbine. :)

I'm easy either way (said the Cali boy to the Kiwi...), but it does cost to change the name of a comm, so if it's for people-finding-it-purposes I definitely think something simple with urbine in the title.

Do you think a change is warranted or would bring people? I'm biased so I'm trying to gather opinions. I just want people to come and enjoy the boys with us!

I think the 'bringing people' is the crux here. I just don't know if there are that many folks to 'bring' anymore? On LJ anyway. I still love LJ with a burning passion, because of the folks I interact with here, and for the wonderful way it introduced me to fandom, and if I had my way it would still be full of people reading and writing and arting all over the shop. But I do wonder if those days are gone now - or rather have fled to the likes of tumblr, which...eh. I love Tumblr for the pretty and instant gratification of a good gifset or whatever, but I'm never going to figure out how to have decent conversations on it, or meet new people tbh. LJ just seems like it's been a little bit abandoned now, although all my faves are still here (*glomps you all*) and I'll be sitting here and chatting until kingdom come because of that, I'm not sure how many new folks are looking to get involved. Certainly on Tumblr I've seen LJ regarded fondly as part of fandom history and included in the sorts of posts that look nostalgically on

I always loved the comm's name because it's clever.

I don't quite understand why the community would be hard to find as it has all the relevant tags. Back in the days, I found the comm via LJ search without any trouble. But if you really think it needs to be changed, I agree that it should be something with Urbine in the title.

That is good to hear! I'm rather fond of the name too, for old school nostalgia reasons (back when this started, there ~wasn't a namesmush), but I'm trying to find out if maybe we should change with the times? Idk, maybe not!
