I actually have a gizmo sorta like this, except it lets you to other things too, like change the channel or toggle the mute. Unfortunately it doesn't work quite right w/ some TVs and causes too many troubles.

Its not just a universal remote, but a real interfering mechanism?

It's the Ninja Remote.

It's a sort of universal remote. The AdBuster one you linked just sends the "Off" code for all the TVs it knows about... but that could turn TVs on, too, since it's a toggle.

I'll take universal at 1/3rd the price. :-)
