I should have known better
I met a girl last week who seemed interested in me. Key word, seemed. Maybe i'm just bad at reading female intent. Turns out not interested in me, but! Is interested in someone to rant at. Which has seemingly triggered a landslide of ranting by girls to me about their boyfriends. It's like i'm fucking 16 again!
I view it like this, you shouldn't unload your problems on me unless I know you, because unless I do, I won't give a shit. And if you really want some sort of deep, heartfelt, and emotional response from me you have to make an effort in being my friend. Take that however you want. Because if I don't give a shit about you/your probelms/your bf/your blah blah it is agonizing for me to sit there and listen to your laundry list of problems. It's like the bases system for dating, but for friendship. You can't just run for home plate goddammit! There are steps!
