hey darling. my grandfather was a lt. general in the army, two tours of duty in vietnam. i know what you mean about military history. at his memorial service the men that served under him played taps and gave the gun salute and were his pallbearers along with my father and uncle. my uncle, also in the military, gave my grandmother the flag in honor of his duty. i'll never forget seeing so many men in uniform cry.... anyway, your entry made me think about that day and the pomp that comes with the military. funny how a profession so violent can also be so glamerous and moving.
