Most ant farms come with a mail in coupon for the ants. You don't collect them from outdoors, you send in a form and they mail you some so you get a queen and everything--otherwise the "hive" would die off really fast. SOOOOooo...not so bad for the winter--don't go spend the money on a new gift!
