I've done it. The police interview took place yesterday in a small room with the detective, myself and Brandon who was there only for support. It was difficult and exhausting, but the detective was extremely considerate and easy going. Telling my story was no where close to any amount of pain, stress, distress, I have endured because of what has ( Read more... )

*big hugs*
you are very strong and brave. it takes a lot of courage to come forward and speak about experiences like this. are your sister and brother also going to speak to the police?

thanks.

my sister has agree to support my case, and if encouraged she said she might report her own experiences.

my brother wants the least involvement as possible. He and his young family still spend time with our dad. :(

you don't need to help. there really is very little anyone can do to help. this is now in the hands of the police.

thanks for your concern.

i'm glad you did that. speaking from experience, the easy part is over. now will come family divides that involve some people actually believing that he is not to blame (or being wrongfully accused). that's the hard part.

but i'm VERY glad you've done this. you ARE strong.

thanks.

well there has already been divide when this all came out with my sister first five years ago. My family... I meant my dad's side of the family has already disowned me, my mom, and my sister. My brother has managed to stay neutral through all of this and is still considered apart of their family.

that sucked but it's over now.

well, then, the hardest parts are over. be comforted in the knowledge that you have totally done the right thing.

and good for you on that. a lot of people would feel like they should, but never be strong enough to do it.
