I really can't believe this! textWhy do these people persist in hounding a man who has been convicted, and has served his time in prison? Whenever he goes ANYWHERE, rest assured A Current Affair is there, hiding in the bushes, waiting for him... It seems to me that either we trust our legal system to deal with issues of this nature, or we don't. ( Read more... )

I can see both sides. Because, on one hand, you're absolutely right - the people hounding him are breaking the law and making it very hard for him to find redemption in society.

But, having said that, if I were a parent, and this guy moved into the house next door to me, I'd be concerned that he was going to reoffend.. with my kids.

Forgiveness is hard for people, but without it, how can people be redeemed? I dunno, it's tricky, and sad. *nods and shrugs*

True, but if many convicted child molesters reoffend upon release, then the fears of parents who live next to them are justified.

See, I don't think that the people hounding him are actually breaking the law. They don't break into his home or anything, they just accost him every time he goes out in public anywhere. There's no law against that unless he has a restraining order out against them. I think its disgusting that they can completely ruin his life in the name of the "public interest" when all they're trying to do is obtain ratings.

I don't want someone who's previously been convicted of any crime living next door to me, but I live in a whole neighbourhood full of them. Someone has to...
