I was just discussing with my good friend Peggy Sue, how we wish we lived in a simpler time. So, if you could turn back time what year would it be and what would your life be like?
Sorry to burst your bubble, but there is no such thing as simpler times.
Every generation/time period has its own set of problems. Yes, ours are very different than the last, but there were still problems. It is easy to sit back and say "I remeber when", but the grass is always greener on the other side. We can say we want to go back to the days of our youth. But there were still problems then, we were just too dumb to see them.
So now, as we come of age, we are hit with the weight of the world. And while we wish we didn't have to bear it, it's our turn. Other have done it for us our whole life and know it is up to us to hold it up for those who still have that sparkle of innocence in their childhood.
So where would I go if I had a time machine? No where, I've already had my turn.
Oh, I know every generation had it's problems. I just don't like ours. Therefore the bubble was created, we have a bad day, muse in the bubble for 5 minutes, things are happy, we move on. Not to be taken seriously, Mr. Grumpy Pants. :p
Yeah, after I posted that I realized how negative it sounded. Sorry, been blasted with anti-gay propeganda today and am a little on edge.
But if we are playing make believe, I didn't mind the late 90's too much. I was old enough to like cool things, but young enough to ignore the crap the was going on.
If I had a time machine I wouldn't use it to go anywhere...I would whore that thing out and make a ton of money. Of course, once history was completely fucked I might regret it...but only if I lost my money in the process. MWAHAHAHAHAHAH.
