(Don't mean to sound stalker-ish, I found your answer along with the others for this Writer's Block)
Sometimes you have to be the friend who tells it like it is, though sometimes it can end disastrous..

Hey! Not stalkerish at all :p

That is the conclusion I am coming to. I am by nature not a person who is good at confrontation, but she needs to hear that not everything can be exactly the way she wants it all the time. As annoyed as I am at her as a friend I feel sad for her. If she doesn't ever learn to compromise and live with someone other than her mom, what kind of life is that?

I can't help but feel part of the blame rests on her mother, you raise your children so they can take care of themselves when you're no longer around. Anywho, I'm pretty sure the "random person" won't be too bad.

I found this post through the Writer's Block thing, just so you know.

A friend of mine had a roommate like that. She was pretty much living in my room with me at one point because she just couldn't take the crying and the whining.

And good luck with getting a new roommate. Maybe you could try asking around your school? It would probably be better to have someone who at least has that in common than possibly some forty year old cat lady or something like that.
