Nice choice of music. And I thought you said that your dad had converted into a Dem?

Heh, whenever they said "500 words" I just pretended not to read the directions.
And you have interviews already?

So how many words did you have? My current personal statement is around 1900, because for UWisc and UPenn they just said 2-3 pages. And I don't want to cut it down!!!!!!

The interviews come from the professors I've emailed about the program writing and saying "Hey, if you're in the area, you should come talk to me because I think our interests line up." So I'm not sure what the "proper" grad school interview is, but I've got these thingies...??

Mine is about 900 words--I had to have one for the Rhodes, so I've just been using that with the names changed. Except for Berkeley, which wanted TWO statements, NEITHER of which matched mine.
That kind of interview is far more reasonable. I was just seized with the irrational notion that your applications had been processed ALREADY and was consumed by jealousy.
I am annoyed at Michigan because I CANNOT log on to their stupid application tracker gizmo. *stabs*

on the contrary, I'm seized with panic that I will not actually be accepted to any school or the fulbright and have to live in a box for the rest of my life.
