I took the kids back to Port Hope and met their mother there. They had a great time in Ottawa. Nothing like an 11 year old to make you feel old though. At the Museum of Civilization she took a photo of the Vancouver Airport exhibit - the portion of the exhibit showing vinyl travel bags and logo marked drink coolers from the 70's - and when I ( Read more... )

Yes, (but I say this cautiously) he hasn't tried climbing the gate recently and there has been provocation. The "squirrel" sat on the fence and watched both kitties in the backyard yesterday. Simon paid no attention while Emma crouched and slunk around the squash plant near the fence. When the "squirrel" saw that he thought about leaving but didn't until I hissed and dashed at it.

Nuisances those squirrels!

Simon also wanted out when a chickadee was playing in the backyard. It turned my wind chime into a swing which drove Simon nuts.

and when I asked her why she told me that she wanted an image of "how they did things back then".

*grin*

Yes, we have gotten to that age when we can say "remember when..." :) We are the last generation who grew up without computers, computer games, walkmans, etc.

Glad to hear that the kitties are happy now that you've returned home. :)

Very happy. I was up late last night playing on ebay and then received a late night phone call just after I climbed into bed. It took me some time to settle down and when I did Simon climbed up on the bed and curled up in front on me for a cuddle. I didn't push him off and he stayed for most of the night though I don't believe I will ever get used to have a cold wet nose pushed into my upper arm while trying to sleep.

Yes, those remember whens. I actually had more than one of those moments with Stephanie. Rather unsettling but not hugely so.
