Yes, yes, those ARE the powerpuff girls. Anime style. And no, it isn't a lame fanart. They're actually making this bloody series. Why in hell would anyone do that? The powerpuff girls were kind of stupid to begin with, but shoujo-anime-ised? *shudders*

Personally, I've always hated PPG, but for what I've seen of the shows, and what I've seen in those pictures, I actually like it better that way. x-x;; I really loathed the art style in the cartoon. I'm not saying pimping everything in shoujo-anime-ised thing is good, I'm just saying it looks a step up from a 9 year old with photoshop and flash. :p

I liked it very briefly (I actually thought the 9 year old with flash look was cute. XD;;) but then I sat down and watched an entire episode and realised what a piece of crap it is. It's just... stupid. Bloody stupid. And no amount of visual pimpage will help. And with the new art style wil probably come some stupid stuff like the addition of an angsty love plotline or... oh god. the yuri incest fanfics... eww.

Out of curiosity, is it an ANIME, or is it just a remake of PPG by shojo-styled American artists? (Like Totally Spies.)

And "plans for a Powerpuff Girls anime were announced at the Tokyo Animation Fair. A joint venture between Toei Animation, Aniplex, and Cartoon Network, the new project will be tentatively titled "Demashitaa! Powerpuff Girls Z."
So it seems like it's real anime but the American owners of PPG wil have some say in it, y'know?

Thank you! I loooove this icon, but feel like a nerd. XD It's my "wtf I'm not amused" icon. XD Because I hate PPG and the idea of an anime makes my skin crawl. =_=

I bet it was that the Cartoon Network finally realised that EVERYONE hates PPG, so they lent the rights to Toei and Aniplex, since anime is gaining in popularity.
Ick... I know. I'm so glad I don't get the Cartoon Network.
