In truth, you dont hate them, but you make yourself because of things that person has done to you, and you know that its wrong what they did to you. so you hate them.. well atleast thats how i see it.
in the looks and personality thing, looks arent all that matters, but they are a part. Personality is wayy more important, but like you said nobody likes an ugly ducking.
