Note: Nothing to be pointed out here, really.
Effects: Sadness and a dose of hate.
The dream starts by showing a world that seems to be made of darkness. Dark purple walls, floors and platforms are all around In the middle of all that, Kirby is walking. He has to reach his final goal. He's being followed by a small fairy dressed in a red dress, called Ribbon. That is the final challenge. They are about to put an end to that, once and for all.
Kirby can't help but feel strange. He had taken care of Zero once. Why did he come back?
Upon reaching a jumping platform, DeDeDe arrives to land them a hand. He slams his hammer against the switch next to the platform, throwing Kirby and Ribbon high up in the sky of that grim planet.
Up there, Zero Two is waiting.
Ribbon summons the Power Crystal and turns it into the Crystal Gun. She begins carrying Kirby and they wait for Zero Two to make the first move. Although, he doesn't do it. He just stays there, floating, watching them both with his huge, blood-shot eye. And even though such lack of activity from the weird creature could be used to Kirby's advantage, he doesn't shoot his gun. There's something wrong. Knowing Zero, Kirby knows that he would start attacking as soon as he arrived. Still, he doesn't do that.
"You two," Suddenly, a voice echoes inside that empty and dark space. It's Zero Two talking. Kirby expected everything but that.
"What are you two doing? What are you trying to achieve?"
Both Kirby and Ribbon tilt their heads in confusion. What did he mean with that?
"You both. You can defeat me. Kill me if you must, but that won't change anything. That won't change the fact that this world is permeated by sadness. A sadness that you are too blind to see."
Staring at Zero Two, the two small heroes don't know what to say. They just float there, listening to his words.
"You little creatures. All of you, from all those planets. You are all so naive. This life is one of perpetual sadness, but you refuse to see it."
"T-That's not true!" Ribbon suddenly says, tightening her grip on Kirby.
"Yes it's true. And the sooner you realize it, the better. Look at you. Trying to fight me, because I disrupted your precious 'happiness'. You can't appreciate the beauty of sadness. But you'll learn soon enough," Zero-Two's eye narrows, as a stream a blood flows from it. Emanating sadness and anger, he suddenly flaps his wings, hitting both Kirby and Ribbon with one of them. Ribbon loses her grip on Kirby and lets him fall with the Crystal Gun.
"KIRBY!" she shouts as he falls into darkness, and is suddenly hit by a wave of red energy, falling down as well.
The small pink ball starts floating before reaching the ground, and lands in safety. Unfortunately, the same can't be said about the small fairy, that falls to the ground not to far from him. Kirby rushes to her and shakes her, trying to wake her up.
Zero-Two descends to take a closer look at the scene. Kirby sounds desperate when he tries to wake up his companion, to no avail.
"You understand what I say now? Sadness is always around. It'll never fade. Even if you destroy me, it'll still linger this universe. It's a force that can't be stopped."
Kirby shakes his head, trying to dismiss Zero-Two's words, still trying to wake up Ribbon, but she isn't responding. He then stops shaking her and turns to Zero-Two, grabbing the Crystal Gun once again and pointing it at the giant on-eyes monster.
"You don't get it, do you? Such naivety... It makes me sick," Zero-Two's voice echoes loudly in the darkness, as he moves closer to Kirby. "You and your disgusting sense of happiness. I despise it! Why must you all be so happy, while I'm always trapped inside this cage of sadness? WHY?"
Giving a step back, Kirby sees the monster approaching him, more tears of blood flowing from his single eye. He seems angrier than ever.
"WHY I CAN NEVER BE HAPPY? WHY?" Zero-Two roars, looming over the pink ball as he just stands and stare, too parlised to use the gun he has in hand.
Suddenly, everything goes dark, and the dream ends.
[Kirby wakes up with a jump, eyes wide. He looks around and, yes, there's darkness around him, but it's only the darkness of the night. He breathes in and our deeply, looking quite relieved that it was all a dream. Still, he can't help but think about Zero-Two's words...]
