All you'dve needed was a larger barbell and things would have been fine. But you can always get it done again later if you want.

If you take jewelry out when the infection is there. There is a chance that it might get trapped inside. Get some edible non iodized sea salt. Mix 1/8 of a tea spoon into 8oz of hot water in a cup. Use clean towels and put them over the piercing. Or dip your boobs directly into the cups. Sea salt acts as an astringent, and tends to help with infections. It also feels really good.

Mine are doing pretty good, and they're not really as sensitive as they were when I first got them done, so that's a good sign. I was so worried when I got them done about taking care of them, you have to baby them more than tattoo.

thats also why you should start with a ring first, its not good to have anything that can rub against the sides of the piercing, like the balls on the barbells... and on top of that it is a dedicated piercing, that can take anywhere from 3 to 9 months to completley heal..
