Well, one of my best friends was just in a car accident on his way over to pick me up. And while I appreciate his mom calling to let me know he's on his way to the hospital, it would have been nice to know a couple details. Like how bad the crash was. Or what hospital he's at. Nope. All I know is he's going to the hospital. Fuck.

After I had my first baby, I came home from the store to an answering machine message from some cop saying my dad had crashed his motorcycle on a major highway and was in the emergency room at such and such hospital. My mom was away on vacation and my husband was at work. I was FREAKED. Bawled all the way to the hospital.

He ended up having some REALLY bad road rash and a few broken bones, but yeah... would have been nice to know if he was almost dead or what :(

I hope you find he's a lot better off than the mind always tends to assume :(

That's what I thought at first too, but she was surprisingly calm when she called. Had she been panicking, I would have understood.

He has a concussion and totalled car. And the accident took place about two minutes from my house. He skidded on the ice and hit a tree. At least he was wearing a seat belt though.

Ooh, I'm sorry. That sucks so much! Try calling in a few days, or even tomorrow or something to see what's going on. Till then assume that if he were in serious trouble, his mom wouldn't have thought to call you.
