Nearly three months is a long time to go without updating your journal, and I, for one, am glad to see you back! :) Don't get very worried about the ACT, it's just a test, you could always retake it, right? If I could get a 26 on a practice ACT, Daria, you could obviously get above that.

As for the advice, I agree with you. I slacked off both Frosh and Soph year. However, I'm still slacking off now. Not very good habits for me.

I don't know if this is true for the schools you're looking at, but I know some schools actually don't count freshman year when they weight GPAs. Look into it--you may have better chances of getting into the places you want than you think!

Most school recalculate your GPA, so even if they don't take out freshman year they still might calculate a different number. They have to put together people with all different kinds of grade weights and things. I'm guessing that Northville kids get a little grade boost from the college recalculation, though I don't actually know. So your overall GPA might be higher.

Don't worry too much--yeah, college is important, but deciding where to go/getting into a college isn't the most important event in your life. I hate the way so many schools, counselors, etc. try to make you think that! Relax. I'm sure you'll do fine. :)

I'm sure you'll get into MSU, Daria! Especially because your grades have been getting better since high school began; colleges like trends like that. Plus, many of them don't even count freshman year grades. I believe Michigan State is one of those colleges, actually. Do some research on it and see!

Good luck on the ACTs! Where are you taking them, anyway? Did you get into the Northville one? I didn't, so I have to take mine in Novi.
