Just putting this here so I can remember it...

My daughter Hazel Junebug Carver was born at 10:03PM on January 16,2013. I was 26 weeks 3 days pregnant.

I woke up on Wednesday feeling fine. I ended up having some cramping a few times throughout the day, but just chocked it to braxton-hicks (though it felt nothing like them,) or normal cramping. I laid down to take a nap at 3:30 and woke up with more pain at about 4. I got into a bath to calm down and told my partner I wasn't going to go watch him teach class that night. He insisted I go with him, though feeling crappy, in case something happened. He didn't want me to be home alone, and now I'm really thankful for that.
I called my midwife on the way to class and told her I was having pains every six minutes or so. She said to get some calcium-magnesium and set me up for an appointment for the next day. I sat outside my partner's class and called my Mom. While on the phone with my Mom, I felt something wet (later I learned it was a bloody show!) in my underwear and went to the bathroom to check. I made my partner end class and said we had to go to the hospital. The closest hospital that was good was far away, so it took 40 minutes to get there.
They triaged me right away, and checked my dilation, which was at 3cm already! Before I knew it, I was upside down in a labor and delivery room getting magnesium sulfate. They checked a few more times and I was at six, then 8. They ended up calling the OB, and neonatology team from Texas Children's Hospital. My contractions were coming quick and then with a huge burst, my water broke. They went to check me again and her head was out. No pushing necessary!
The neonatology team took Hazel right away to stabilize her. I got to see her for a few minutes before they took her out of the room. Seven hours later, they rolled her into my room, intubated, but doing alright. The team took her on the hour drive to Texas Children's. They let me out of the hospital ten hours later to go join her. She is stable now, gaining weight, breathing with just a CPAP, and being fed Mom's milk through a feeding tube. She has world renound Doctors and nurses working with her and she is exceeding all expectations! Her Dad and I fall in love more and more every day. My little Junebug is a fighter!
