Walking is good. This is one of the things that has been proven to me time and time again, no matter what city or back country road I am traveling on. Take the 1st choice.

Fuck, Chris, I dunno. But my instinct is to disagree with Henry, because, I mean, FUCK. THE LOUVRE????? OMFG. THE LOUVRE.

That is all.

NUMBER 2!!! BUT ----I would ask her if you could possibly have other visiting americans spend the night. It wouldn't hurt to mention that you will be responsible for all of their actions/needs. See what she says about that! THE LOUVRE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

babydoll - well, i dunno. i kind of live in your second choice, though not the center of the city or anything. within walking distance of lovely museums. just that i live with a single, alone, kind of lonely woman with a cat. which is nice, because bam, just like that i'm a part of her life. on the other hand, if you think the family is going to be more familial, cosy, if they are good cooks (mine ain't), if you think you'll get at all lonely living in the middle of a huge city, in a touristy area (Louvre, lovey, Louvre), then live with the family! Plus you'll be near Twistan.

I can't have anyone stay the night either. Or even come inside. Spaniards!

Are you looking for the quintessential experience of Paris, travelling the sites and getting farmiliar with the Louvre, or for something more specific-particular people in their culture and home in a place that happens to be Paris?

Do you think of travelling as a potential to see new experiences in your new city, or as a drag?

Do you want the opportunity/burden of providing food for yourself? Do you want the experience of eating some specific other individual's cooking, or of purchasing your own food?

Just some ways of forming the question. You'll make the right decision for you.
