the year i took off i made about $12/hr, and I totally made enough money to pay rent (I was even living alone!), eat, and have a little fun... so... although $15 would be way nicer, you could probably get by with a $12 an hr job...especially if you were splitting an apartment with someone.
Also, you should check out craigslist and the register guard website for job listings as well. you never know what good jobs could be posted there!

I'm sad you aren't coming to my girl bash tonight!! :( BUT, if you move to the EUG, we can have girls nights more often! woot! ;)
